Greeters and Docents

Greeters welcome visitors to the Museum and provide them with a basic introduction to the Museum and its exhibits. They handle Museum Gift Shop sales, document the number of visitors to the Museum and gather visitor feedback. In addition to providing the services of a greeter, docents introduce visitors to the Museum with a deeper knowledge of the exhibits. They receive training when new exhibits are opened and participate in Exhibit Opening Events.

Training: All volunteers interested in becoming a greeter or a docent are provided with training. Check below for the next training session.

Hours: 4 hours per month.

We are looking to form a grant writing committee consisting of both inexperienced volunteers who are interested in learning and experienced volunteers to provide guidance and mentoring in the grant submittal process. We expect inexperienced volunteers to do the research and writing of each grant and experienced volunteers to guide in the grants evaluation and selection process, critique the writing, and identify weak areas and missing/incomplete information.

Hours: Flexible and some work could be done from home.

We are looking for an experienced person to head a team of volunteers whose role is to organize and oversee the execution of the donation process for our major fundraising events. This person should be a good communicator and have solid organizational skills.

Volunteers follow standard museum procedures to identify, describe, document the history of and appropriately store archives, photographs, objects, and other historical items in our collection.

Training: One-on-one training is provided.

Hours: 4 hours per week

Private holiday party to thank all our volunteers for their dedication and hard work during the year.

This year the party featured entertainment by Santiago's Magic - magic, story telling and fortunes.
